Saturday, April 29th from 10am to 4pm. Rain or Shine.
The Joseph A. Strasser Butterfly Festival has something for everyone! There are arts and crafts, games, and face painting for children (or the young at heart) as well as a bounce house, a touch tank, and a live animal encounter. The trails are open for exploring, the Butterfly House is set up for touring, and live music will be playing. Local vendors will be selling their goods, from soaps and honey to fairy wands and jewelry. You can purchase hamburgers, hot dogs or veggie burgers and have a picnic, if you wish. There is much more happening, but the highlight of the day is always the end of the day when 500 monarch butterflies are released!
Parking will be at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church or Parkwood Baptist Church. No vehicle traffic is allowed during the event, due to safety reasons. A shuttle will be running from the parking lots to the event entrance, but we encourage people to walk and leave the shuttle for those requiring extra assistance.
Admission for the Festival: $5 for adults, $4 for students/military/seniors, $3 for children ages 3-17, Under 3 and members always get in free.
