Full Description

The Primary Choir curriculum is designed to prepare Kindergarten and first-grade children to become musical in three ways:

1. Melodic – to have melodies in their heads and learn to coordinate their voices to sing those melodies.

2. Rhythmic – to feel the beat and its divisions and how that beat is grouped in either 2s or 3s.

3. Artistic – to be moved by music in the many ways music can elicit an emotional response.

Like the Training Choir, the Primary Choir is semester-based, with 12-week sessions in fall and spring. Each year, participating singers receive 24-30 hours of instruction and perform a brief concert twice a year.

Auditions are not required. Need-based scholarships are not available at this time. Space is limited.

The Primary Choir practice for Spring 2018 starts February 5th in Arlington, February 6th in Orange Park, and February 8th at our downtown offices.
