Sew into Fashion: 4-H Sewing Camp Beginners and Advanced, June 4-8, 2018, 9am-4pm daily, ages 8-16, $110.
Beginner participants will learn about sewing tools, materials and techniques, as well as explore fashion design elements to create a garment and accessories. All materials needed and a sewing kit to take home will be provided. Advanced participants will work with advanced sewing tools, materials and techniques, as well as explore fashion design elements to create a garment and accessories. Experienced participants are youth who have already completed the beginner level in a previous year and are looking to expand their knowledge and skills through a more advanced project. Youth will be expected to bring their previously provided sewing kit with them.
Discover Florida’s Ecosystems, June 11-15, 2018, 9am-4pm daily, ages 11-14 $100.
This camp will take youth on a journey through Florida’s ecosystems! Summer is the time to explore and enjoy the outdoors, each day youth will explore a different area of Florida such as natural springs and beaches. There will be opportunities to learn about how our ecosystems play an important role for the state of Florida and the world. There will be a field trip nearly every day to discover the uniqueness of our state!
Marine Science Camp, June 25-29, 2018 9am-4pm daily, ages 9-12, $100.
Interested in marine biology? Want to learn more about how to save our seas? Curious about careers in this field? This camp is a wonderful way for youth to excite their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about and caring for our oceans. Whether they are getting introduced to marine science, or are diving into a subject they are already passionate about, youth are inspired to take part in hands on marine science projects!
All About Animals, June 18-21, 2018, 9am-4pm daily, ages 5-8, $80.
During this 4 day camp, campers will learn about all different kinds of animals such as farm animals, pets, marine animals, wildlife, entomology, and exotic animals with hands on science activities. We will travel and take field trips to visit marine animals, and farm animals, and the Jacksonville Zoo!
Can you Escape? 4-H Escape Room Challenge Day, June 22, 2018, 9am-5pm, ages 8-15, $27.
This one-day summer camp is hosted by the Duval County 4-H Youth Council. The teens of the council have put hard work into creating a day full of challenges and fun! During this camp, youth will explore escape room challenges, teambuilding activities, and other hands on activities to explore their creative and detective skills! (this one day camp is a fundraiser for council scholarships, 100% of the funds raised go directly to the youth council).
4-H Legislature, June 25-29, 2018 overnight, ages 13-18, $230.
Senior 4-H’ers come develop your skills to debate, analyze legislation and speak publicly, all while making new friends and having a whole lot of fun. At this civic education event, you can sponsor a bill, amend, or lobby it, then debate the issues on the Capitol house and senate floors with your friends. Legislature is open to Senior 4-H’ers ages 13 to 18 as of September 1 of the current 4-H year.
Camp Cherry Lake, July 9-13, 2018 overnight, ages 8-18, $265
4-H Camp Cherry Lake is located in Madison, Florida. This camp is full of fun outdoors adventures! Campers will participate in kayaking, fishing, boating, swimming, archery, and more. Campers will also have time to enjoy arts & crafts, games, and make lifelong friends in their cabin mates! Duval County 4-H will provide transportation from the Duval County Extension Office to Camp Cherry Lake and back for camp participants. All activities, meals, transportation, and lodging are included in the price. Early bird price of $250 until April 20, 2018.
Theater Camp July 16-20, 2018 9am-4:00pm daily, ages 11-14, $75.
Do you like to be onstage? Do you enjoy acting? Then this is the camp for you! Participants will learn the basics of acting, stage craft, and character development. Journey into Bugs at Insectpedition, July 16-20, 2018 9am-4:00pm daily, ages 11-18, $85.
Come join us for a Journey into Bugs at Insectpedition! This 4-H Summer Camp for youth will introduce campers to the insect world. Campers will receive insect collecting equipment as part of camp. Campers should be prepared to collect and preserve their specimens during this hands-on, outdoors camp and be able to focus for periods of time to pin their specimens. Campers will leave camp with new knowledge of insects, the beginning of their insect collection, and collecting equipment. Campers can apply for scholarships to cover the cost of camp. Campers should submit a 500-word essay on the "Importance of Insects to Your Life." Scholarship recipients will be required to present their collection during 2-5 minute presentation after the camp at either an industry meeting or business. The location will be determined by the scholarship donor. UF faculty will also accompany the scholarship recipients to these meetings. The number of scholarships will be based on the number of donations. Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 1st. Their camp fee will be refunded after July 1st. Applicants can be from any county, do not have to be an existing 4-H member, must meet the age requirements of the camp, and must be registered for the camp when they submit their application. Science of Cooking, July 23-27, 2018, 9am-4pm daily, ages 10-16, $115.
Do you want to learn how to cook good food & learn what types of food you need for your body? Well, put on your chef’s hat & apron & join us for a fun-filled week of cooking, shopping, traveling & dining. During this day camp, youth will spend each day from 9am-4pm cooking and learning about the culinary industry and science behind cooking techniques! Not your average cooking camp!
4-H University, July 30- August 2, 2018 overnight, ages 14-18, $250.
Florida 4-H University is a week-long overnight event for young adults held at the University of Florida. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in educational workshops led by University of Florida faculty, explore career opportunities, lead community service activities, interact with youth from all over the state, and have fun while developing critical life skills that will help them become productive and engaged citizens in their communities, their country, and their world.

Time to get on your feet with our 4-H Dance Camp! This two day camp is designed to give campers a taste of different dance styles from yesterday and today. So be ready to Dance! The history of dance, dance etiquette and fashion will also be covered. Campers must bring their own lunch, wear comfortable 4-H appropriate attire and closed toe shoes.
